Innovative Contraceptive and MCH Delivery System- Role of ISM Practitioners

Vimarsh undertook this study to explore the potentials of the vast resource of ISM practitioners by knowing work pattern of ISM practitioners, size and characteristics off their clientele, their basic knowledge of the population problem and family planning programmes.
Vimarsh was involved in preparing the drafts of corresponding schedules and tabulation. For the implementation of the study 8 districts were selected from the state of Madhya Pradesh and 4 districts were selected from the state of Gujarat, where there was a good concentration of ISM practitioners. From each of the state 100 villages were selected which comprised of a sample of 2000 respondents including ISM practitioners, knowledgeable persons and acceptors of family planning methods. The field team was trained and the field operation was thus organized. The data which was collected was processes, analysed and interpreted. A report was submitted to the client to conclude the study.
