 Capacity Building of Self Help Groups under SGSY

This study was undertaken by Vimarsh for District Rural Development Agecny, Bhopal in the year 2008 and it continued till 2009. The objective of this programme was to build the capacity of the self help groups under SGSY. Vimarsh provided assistance in developing credit plans. The idea was to provide a list of potential viable micro enterprises which could be set up by SHGs and acceptable to all financial institutions including commercial banks. Vimarsh convinced all bankers and they principally agreed to extend credit to SHGs members if any of them opt for these identified activities. Vimarsh also conducted several training programs for building capacities of women groups in rural areas.
