Concurrent Evaluation of Swarn Gram Swarozgar Yojana (CE-SGSY) in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

“Vimarsh undertook this study with the following objectives :
• Analyze the physical and financial progress of the program
• Ascertain whether the guidelines are being followed by different stakeholders
• Ascertain quantity, value, quality, utilization and survival of assets created under the scheme
• Evaluation of maintenance of `SGSY Infrastructure Fund’
• Role of credit and subsidy in SGSY
• Impact assessment of the programme in terms of incremental income generation and creation of employment opportunities and its role in poverty alleviation and to ascertain marketing aspects of the activities undertaken
• Assessment of role of skill enhancement and technology adoption in enhancing success of schemes undertaken
• Impact assessment of the programme in terms of incremental income generation and creation of employment opportunities and its role in poverty alleviation, particularly of weaker and disadvantaged sections of the society especially SC/ST and Women, etc.
• To ascertain marketing aspects of the activities undertaken, selection of activities, market potential, availability of market, mode of marketing and actual status of marketing and to ascertain the role played by different agencies in marketing of SGSY product
• Assessment of role of skill enhancement and technology adoption in enhancing success of schemes undertaken
• Period of Evaluation: from the start of the Programme till end March 2006 (five years)”
