Narrative Description of Project

“Vimarsh undertook this project to prepare a detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Integrated Watershed Management Projects. A DPR is expected to include and capture all the relevant data in the beginning itself and document the same. It is also expected to include needs of watershed community and corresponding interventions under various components in an effort to ensure successful implementation of the project and in creating infrastructure and enabling sustainable quality service delivery.
The major sections covered in the DPR were as follows:
• Project background, Concept and scope
• Project cost
• Project institution framework and Project financial structuring
• Project phasing
• Project O&M framework and planning
• Project financial viability/sustainability
• Project benefits assessments-expected outcomes.
• Scientific Planning and Logical Framework Analysis

A DPR was prepared after detailed discussions with village community and strong PRA exercise. It included Basic Information on Watershed including rainfall, temperature, location, topography, hydrology, soils, forests, demographic features, ethnographic details of community, land use pattern, major crops and their productivity, irrigation, livestock, socio-economic status., details of expected/proposed UGs, SHGs, master table for common land/private land activities, contribution to watershed development funds, information on Soil & Land use, description of proposed interventions (Physical and financial, including time table of interventions) along with technical details and drawings.”
